Scoms is a situational picture and result service system developed by scouts for scouting competitions and camps. The system can be used to monitor the progress of guards and tick marks in real time in one and the same service. The first appearance of Scoms was seen in 2017 in Suomi-Punku, and since then the Scoms team has been seen in competitions all over the Finland. Several project contributors have ended up working in the technology industry thanks to the skills demonstrated in the project. There are about 400 NFC tags on lanyards available. The tags are distributed to the guards, and the guards use the tags to stamp with warm check points. An Android phone is used as a stamping device, on which Scoms Client is installed. The phone must support NFC.Various policies have been developed to distribute tags to guards. In some events, tags have been read out according to the guard list and the tag has been delivered to the guard with papers and supplies in the same envelope. However, perhaps the most common way is to distribute the tags during registration, where the clerk takes the tag from the box, connects it to the guard on the computer and hands it over to the guard. For Scoms, both ways are equally good.
